나는 통상적인 전 월세 계약 기간 2년마다 서울과 경기도를 넘나들며 주거지를 옮겨 다닌다. 불안정한 환경에 놓인 나는 지역과 지역을 이동 할 때마다 약 20cm-200m까지 서로 다른 거리를 유지하고 있는 도시 경계 표시판과 그 사이에 있는 ‘장소’들과 마주하게 된다. 그 장소는 경제와 정치 이념에 따라 지속적인 변화를 거친다. 나는 5개월에 걸쳐 거리측정기를 들고 나의 삶 전반을 거쳐 경험한 도시의 각 경계 구간을 찾아 걸었다. 그리고 각 경계에 정확한 위치를 찾아 표식을 남기고, 불완전한 그 곳을 시각화 해 보고자 하였다.

I typically move my residence every two years, commuting between Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. In this unstable environment, I encounter city boundary signs, maintaining distances ranging from about 20cm to 200m, and the 'places' in between whenever I move between regions. These places undergo continuous changes based on economic and political ideologies. Over a period of five months, I carried a distance-measuring device and walked through various urban areas I experienced throughout my life. I marked precise locations at each boundary, aiming to visualize these imperfect spaces.
